Buying your dream home in Italy doesn’t need to be expensive.

It could cost as little as €1.

Sure, something that’s basically given away is going to require all kinds of renovations. You probably won’t even be able to live in the thing for a while. But, hey, what do you expect for something cheaper than the McDonald’s Value Menu?

I’ve suggested in the past to spring for the €20,000 Italian homes. Those (probably) have fewer repairs, and there’s a good chance it’s habitable upon taking ownership, which makes living in the house as you reno it far easier. It also probably saves you money in the end.

But you know what else helps you save money on that dream Italian property?

All the Italian tax breaks. There is a load of them. Depending on the home renovation tax breaks you qualify for it’s very well possible to slash down the cost of renovation to nearly nothing.

If you’re interested in buying, and renovating, that Italian dream home for an incredible discount, you will need to begin making moves sooner rather than later, as some of the tax breaks are seeing declines, and might not be around for too many more…
