Being busy is worn as a badge of honor these days. Some people wear it proudly, as if it’s a sign of their self-worth and without it, they mean nothing. Others wear it resignedly, believing that busyness is simply an unavoidable part of life.

Neither of those things is true. You are not made worthy by how much you can do. Nor are you “stuck” being busy if you don’t wish to be. There are several things you can do to cut down on the busyness and give yourself time for rest and renewal.

And the real bonus to this? When you allow yourself time for rest and renewal, you find new energy that allows you to get more done.

Schedule your downtime NOW

Do you have vacation time coming this year? Schedule it now. Even if you don’t know where you want to go — or if you even want to go anywhere — get it scheduled and on the calendar. Turn in the paperwork at work so that time is locked in.
