“Hospitality is the key to new ideas, new friends, new possibilities. What we take into our lives changes us. Without new people and new ideas, we are imprisoned inside ourselves.” — Joan D Chittister

I love hotels.

I love the vast, welcoming atmosphere of a high-ceilinged lobby. I love how the receptionists always seem to anticipate exactly what you need, be it a simple smile or a glass of sparkling wine. I love the tiny, aesthetic details that show true taste and respect, from the sweet treats left on your pillowcase to the shampoo samples with scents reminiscent of the location itself: citrus and lemongrass on the coast, fresh cotton and soothing lavender in urban areas.

Each detail tells a story. Each detail comes together to create a cohesive and memorable experience. Each detail is shaped by a sense of empathy, generosity, and high regard for the guest.

As a professional writer, I believe that my job is similar: to anticipate the reader’s needs, to respect the reader’s journey, and to cultivate an experience for the reader that leaves them wanting more.

Great content, then, is an act of true hospitality.
