I saw a Medium article by Jim Woods, “After 5 Years, Now I Can Tell You the Truth About Being a Full-time Writer.” In it, he describes what’s great and what sucks about making a living as a writer. I totally relate to this: “It’s great to take off when you want and not have to check in with anyone, but it sucks not getting paid for holidays or sick days!”
