At the moment, Virtual Reality is known more for its fantastical representation in movies and books than for its real-world utility. The movie Ready Player One is a recent example of what our imaginations hope VR will evolve into. Large and immersive digital worlds we can experience by placing goggles over our eyes that transport us to new experiences.

We seek total escapism.

But to accomplish this task, engineers are focused on developing hardware that will enable us to immerse ourselves within these digital worlds. This article focuses on what VR is, how immersion is a foundation for the future of VR, and a primary solution being created to facilitate immersive VR.
