In freelancing, there’s something we all deal with and spend countless dollars and time on trying to get rid of.

It’s the dreaded cycle of “Freelance Feast or Famine.”

Freelance Feast or Famine means you go through cycles of having a lot of work, only to finish it, then have almost nothing else waiting for you. Sure, having a bunch of projects feels excellent. But since you’re in a position where your client work takes up your time, other parts of your business may suffer.

For example, you may be so busy with deliverables, your marketing may go down — especially if you’re running your own business solo.

But there is one method you can use to ensure you always have a consistent stream of work. It has to do with transforming a one-time client who may ask for a single project and turning that relationship into a partnership where you get ongoing work.

For a long time in my freelance copywriting work, I seemingly only had one-time projects. I’d get asked to write a short email sequence, a sales page, or write the content for an ebook. Which was fine. But after I finished the project, I was back to prospect hunting and searching…
