How I Built a Business Around My Life (Not the Other Way Around)

Success was supposed to feel different.

For years, I thought I was doing everything right. I climbed the career ladder, put in the hours, and hit every target. I even started my own business on the side, thinking it would give me more freedom.

Instead, I found myself working even longer hours, constantly stressed, and with no time to actually live. My days revolved around client calls, deadlines, and an inbox that never stopped filling up.

Then, in 2023, I had a stroke. Seven months in hospital forced me to rethink everything — I say ‘forced’ but staring at a hospital ceiling for seven hours every day means you think about everything.

If I wanted to rebuild my life, I had to do things differently.

Now, I run a profitable business working just four hours a day. I set my own schedule, only work on projects that matter, and prioritise my ‘life’ — that’s to say, spending time with my family and recovering from my stroke.
