According to Neuromarketing, “If a good color sells, the right color sells better.”

Color is like an emotional cue, it’s what pique’s your audience’s interest to know more about your product or vision. Businesses, brands, and entrepreneurs all around the world are constantly trying to improve their sense of the color wheel and how they can lead to increased business value.

It goes without saying, how crucial are colors and palettes in data visualization and how instrumental a role they play in conveying insights.

Even though Tableau has multiple high-quality color palettes, there might be cases where none of them are good enough for your chart or viz., there is, however, a way to add customized color palettes in addition to our existing color palettes in Tableau.

Follow the steps to create your own palette –

Step 1 — Open your “My Tableau Repository” folder (usually under Documents)

Step 2 — Find the Preferences.tps file in your ‘My Tableau Repository’
