How to make your Mac more effectively for developers?
A MacBookPro is seen as the standard for developers. A well-configured and optimized Mac should become an extension of the programmer’s body and brain.
In this article, I will share my optimization strategy of Mac to make it more suitable for developers. There are hundreds of solutions about how to optimize your Mac. Some of them almost list all of the hotkeys of macOS, in fact, these experiences are almost zero, and so many shortcut keys lose the meaning of “shortcut”. Other solutions need you to deeply customize your Mac, which is not needed for most developers. Sometimes over-customization will bring some inexplicable problems in the future.
In this article, My principle is “Basic, Simple and Effective.”
System Settings:
For Apple product Zealot, Please Turn on “Handoff” firstly.
Use Handoff with any Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch. Handoff works when your devices are near each other and set up follows:
- Each device is signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
- Each device has Bluetooth turned on.
- Each device has Wi-Fi turned on.
- Each device has Handoff turned on.
