If your business is still focused on marketing to Millennials, you are in danger of being disrupted and replaced in the marketplace.

The generational cohort that was born after the Millennials is ready to take over. Whether you call them post-Millennials, Generation Z, or Gen Z, they are going to change the world in ways Millennials could only dream of.

Gen Z is bigger than both baby boomers and Millennials. The oldest members of this group are graduating from college and entering the workforce. Depending on your business, they are either your future clients and customers, or they should be your current customers and clients.

Who is Gen Z?

Gen Z is the group you should be targeting if you are trying to attract “young people.” While “Millennial” has become marketing shorthand for youth and energy, Millennials are rapidly entering middle age. Millennials are pushing out Gen Xers and Boomers out of middle-management and upper management in companies, colleges, and government.

In other words, Millennials are now the establishment. It’s up to Gen Z to be the truth-tellers, hell-raisers, and troublemakers that our society expects youth to be.
