How to Market Your Self-Published Book with a Limited Budget

The invention of self-publishing opened the door for many writers who would have never had the opportunity to get their work out there otherwise.

This isn’t to say independent authors produce shoddy work, unfit for publishing. But the publishing industry has always been notoriously hard to break into. Self-publishing allows for topics that are unique, original, controversial, and far removed from the mainstream.

The primary reason so few self-publishing authors are successful is because they fail to realize they’re on their own. Not only do they need to write their book, but they must also market it. As a digital marketing specialist and self-published author, I’ve often been asked by my colleagues how they can effectively market their books.

The biggest problem is most of these authors (myself included) don’t have the enormous marketing budgets of big publications. So, the question becomes, “how can I market my book with a limited budget?”
