How to sort cells by color in Google Sheets

Everyone uses Google Sheets.

Some of them for family budgets 👍
Some as a CRM 😔

I’ve been using it for a few years. (From that beautiful time when I went to the university) — but Didn’t know this simple feature — sorting by color.

I like mark rows/columns/cells with color so my documents are the most likely red-yellow-green-any color table. 🌈

It’s bright but not organized.

How to sort cells by color in Google Sheets

Yesterday I needed to sort my table by color.

And found out that there is NO built-in feature (which was in Excel 2007
But discovered this quick solution.

It’s Called “Sort Range Plus

It’s free. It’s easy. 😀

2 clicks and my table is sorted.

What to do to sort your table by color:

1- Install Add-On:

You need to go on Google Sheets Add-on Market and find “Sort Range Plus”. And just install it.

2- Choose the Range of Data and choose the Add-on

After you install the “Sort Range Plus” you will have a new feature in your Google Sheets. Just pick the range of cells and enable the plugin.

3- Choose parameters of sorting

Now choose by what column you will sort your table.

4- That’s it

Once you click “Sort” your table will be sorted.

Summary

If you use Google Sheets (I bet you do) this simple thing can make your life better. So I hope it’ll do it!
