Curiosity drove me to do something we all secretly wonder about:

I opened ChatGPT and prompted, “Make me smarter.”

A few seconds later, it responded.

I expected generic advice.

But what followed was a surprisingly helpful breakdown on improving cognitive skills, maximizing learning efficiency, and even how training the body helps sharpen the mind.

Here’s how ChatGPT broke down “getting smarter” into actionable steps and my main takeaway from each:

1. Sharpen Analytical Skills

The first thing ChatGPT said to do to get smarter was to hone analytical skills. It said to practice problem-solving as a daily habit. It then suggested apps like Lumosity and Peak for quick mental exercises. Not a bad start.

Personally, I like to “train my brain” with another app called Impulse, so I appreciated it providing those suggestions.

Second up, ChatGPT suggested embracing data-driven decision making in everyday life, whether for personal or professional purposes. It then gave the example to start analyzing metrics that matter in your role to spot trends and make proactive adjustments.
