I had a call with someone much younger a few days ago. He reached out to me for advice. He is still in his late 20s.

He was at a crossroads in his life and career. He wanted to know what to eliminate and what to continue doing.

He had a full-time job, a startup, started an MBA, and was upskilling.

Of course, doing all of that, he was worn out. He barely had time for himself. All his money gets eaten up. He wasn’t enjoying himself and was getting overwhelmed.

So, I was brutal with my advice…

The MBA and Startup

I told him to cut out the MBA. For him and the career he has chosen, an MBA program was a wrong use of his time right now. I told him to quit that.

Knowing what to quit in life is so very important.

The second point was much brutal. I told him to halt his startup. It had a bright future, but he didn’t have the resources to push it to its full potential. It was just eating away at his money.
