When it comes to growing on a social media platform, most people think that the only thing you have to do is upload content.

And in the first instance, they are right. The more you expose yourself to a platform, the more opportunities you have for others to discover you. However, if all you do is upload content without a specific goal, you can easily waste time and stay in the same place forever.

This is what happened to me the first time I tried to be a content creator in 2019. I created a YouTube channel without a specific niche, and my only goal was to upload weekly videos. I did exactly what everyone told me was the only key to growth: I uploaded videos consistently.

I didn’t have a strategy, specific videos for an audience, or the right knowledge. Five years later, I haven’t been able to monetize that channel.

For that reason, this year, I decided to do something different. I wanted to grow a platform the right way and upload content that makes sense for an audience, not just post stuff for the sake of posting.
