I Used Raena AI (NotebookLM Killer) — Here Are Insane Use Cases That Will Blow Your Mind
You won’t believe how it can help students study smarter!
Recently, I wrote a post about Raena AI sharing what it is and a couple of features it has.
To give you an idea — it is an AI tool that helps students study better by turning study materials into quizzes, giving summaries, generating podcasts, and acting like a personal tutor.
And today, I want to talk about how one can use Raena AI for their own benefit, sharing a number of use cases.
As the company is mainly focusing on students, this post will be more about how students can take the help of Raena AI to boost their learning.
Sure, even others can use it for their benefit, but I will be focusing more on students.
Also note that there are other AI tools with similar features, but Raena AI offers more customization and it is more like a complete package for students.
This post is from my newsletter, AI Made Simple, where I share real-world examples, step-by-step guides, and insights on how to use AI tools. You can subscribe to it here; it’s FREE.
With that said, let’s get started with some of the mind-blowing ways one can use it.
1. Upload your complex documents and easily generate a podcast to understand them
You may know that NotebookLM (Google’s new AI tool) lets you create a human-like podcast by just uploading your own document.
And the podcast it generates is mind-blowing.
The same way, one can upload a file or text in Raena AI, and it generates a simple podcast, like NotebookLM where two humans talking about a specific topic and explaining it in simple terms.
I’ve uploaded one of my post, and the result blew my mind.
Here’s a short snippet of the transcript to show you just how well it generated the podcast.
As you can see, it’s more like someone explaining to a student in a storytelling way.
To be honest, I didn’t expect such precise podcast generation from any AI tool other than NotebookLM.
2. Generate specific quizzes from your study material
Let’s be honest — students can’t fully grasp or learn something just by reading.
There’s too much to absorb.
But if they change their approach and get more practical, understanding the overall concept becomes much easier.
One effective way to do this is by learning a topic and then testing themselves on it to truly solidify their understanding.
That’s where one can use Raena AI to generate quizzes.
For that, one can upload study material (in different formats) into Raena AI, and then click the button “Start the magic!”
And in seconds, it will generate quizzes designed to make learning more engaging and effective.
Not only that, but one can also edit these quizzes — rearrange, delete, or customize them as needed, and then export it.
Plus, Raena AI recently introduced new updates like feedback on quizzes and explanations to clarify misunderstood concepts, making it even easier for students to easily learn complex concepts.
3. Ask questions to your personal AI tutor
We all know that students often need a personal tutor to help them with difficult topics.
And since this is the age of AI, Raena AI came up with a personal AI tutor.
You can upload your study materials and ask your personal AI tutor anything you need help with.
Sounds great, right?
Sure, it’s similar to how tools like ChatGPT or Claude answer your questions, but Raena AI takes it a step further, offering this feature as part of a complete solution designed specifically for students.
4. Generate the needed summaries
The last way you can use Raena is by generating summaries of your long document.
For that, simply upload the material in any format, and then click on the button “Start the magic.”
I uploaded a recent blog post from the Anthropic CEO talking about AI and its future.
It gave me a 795-word summary highlighting the key points I wanted to go through.
You see, this way, I got the needed info without reading the whole blog post.
Sure, there are several AI tools out there that can help you summarize a topic.
But it is a bit more customizable, like you can upload files, text documents, links, images, and even YouTube video URLs.
Later, you can select the summary type, from brief to detailed or deep dive, and even choose the format like text, bullet points, or mind map (coming soon).
So, this can be more helpful to students.
Comparing Raena AI with NotebookLM for students
Raena AI has a few competitors listed on its site, such as NotebookLM, StudyBuddy, StudyFetch, and Quizlet.
Among these, NotebookLM is the most well-known, so let’s focus on how it stacks up against Raena AI.
a) Podcast generation:
Both tools are great at creating podcasts from documents, making it easy to learn by listening.
The quality is excellent on both, so it’s tough to say which one is better.
b) Quiz creation:
This is where Raena AI pulls ahead.
While NotebookLM can generate quizzes, Raena AI does it better.
Not only that, but the quizzes are highly customizable — you can edit, export, and organize them to fit your needs. This feature makes studying more interactive and engaging.
c) Customizable summaries:
Raena AI offers more flexibility in summarizing content.
You can adjust the length (short or detailed) and choose formats like text, bullet points, or even mind maps (coming soon). NotebookLM doesn’t provide the same level of control or variety.
d) Focus on students:
While NotebookLM caters to a broad audience, including professionals and educators, Raena AI is specifically designed with students in mind.
This student-first approach ensures that the team will focus mainly on students, and every feature is tailored to help learners study smarter and faster.
Let’s wrap up
I have to be honest — I’ve spent at least a month exploring Raena AI, and with the features it offers, the possibilities are absolutely mind-blowing.
And here’s the best part — you can try all of these use cases for free by simply creating a free account.
Yes, it’s that easy!
So, if you’re a student looking to improve your studies or someone trying to understand complicated info, Raena AI is worth trying.
That’s all for now.
Hope you like it.
