Productivity is a little bit addictive and productivity’s best friend is structure. The self-help world is full of articles about structure, routine and habits. Often, after a few too many productivity articles and not enough sunlight, the allure of being an ultra-productive gets the best of you. You conclude what any natural human would do after reading 23 productivity articles without much sleep.

Your life needs structure.

You need set times and clear guidelines for work. You need to embed the Pomodoro techniques to be sure your output is optimal. And so you open up your calendar and you start colour-coding. Purple for personal development, green for workouts, pink of intense work. You write an extensive list for your morning routine. You fill up a bottle of water to go next to your bedside table. Tomorrow you are going to be the most productive human on planet Earth.

  • 6 am — 7 am: exercise and meditate
  • 7 am — 8 am: write article titles
  • 5 pm — 7 pm: write at least 2000 words
