PEACEMAKERS — Prayer, Passion & Purpose — on the 40th Anniversary (2025) of LIVE-AID and FARM-AID

--

[AFTERWORD 4/22/23]:

2025 (July 13) will mark the 40th anniversary of the largest benefit concert audience in history (LIVE-AID) and the inaugural event of the complimentary annual concert series it engendered (September 22, FARM-AID).

LIVE-AID was pulled off in 6 months and reached 1.9 billion or 2 of every 5 people on Earth. There is more than ample time to organize a 40th Anniversary global event worthy of its progenitors to bring together humanity to heal centuries if not millenia of human trauma and biosphere harm in a global dawn wave of BELL-RINGING for PEACEMAKERS series of local/bioregional concert events in support of TGR (The Great Regeneration).

I’m writing this on what would have been the 80th birthday of John Lennon, having just watched Willie Nelson and sons’ rendition of Watching the Wheels and the Sepp Osley Dear John Tribute concert, to propose a celebration in 2025 as tribute to IMAGINE, perhaps the greatest song ever composed, and to the breakthrough benefit concerts LIVE-AID and FARM AID.

It’s one thing to ‘have a vision’ it’s quite another to feel it down to your bones and see it clearly through a river of tears. Listening to an array of artists give joyful and heartfelt tribute to John Lennon from their own seperate sanctuaries amidst the chaos of the world gave me hope we’d soon see the day when the world’s great artists and peoples would come together to honor and pledge their lives to love and care for each other and the great sanctuary of life that is our Biosphere.

The world is changing and we will thrive on Earth in peace one day; but not without art and artists, music and musicians, not without healing words, soulful sounds, and new images of a thriving restored Earth. And most of all not without imagination set free as never before.

“Imagine the clouds dripping. Dig a hole in your garden to put them in.”

— Yoko Ono, from Grapefruit

Imagine a 24-hour live Biosphere Biopic — a ‘pulse of the planet’ event linking every continent, ocean, nation and living kin-dom across the Earth, beginning before dawn at the international date line in the Pacific, with silence and natural sounds and images, spanning the wonders of the natural world, followed by church bells or gongs ringing out as the sun rises, a wave of rousing sound, as the Earth turns. This would unite hundreds of millions making peace and ringing in a new vision for life on Earth.

This is my vision for TGR and PEACEMAKERS (previously FirstEARTH.LIVE) the title banner under which I launched a design initiative for a regenerative revolution. [Introduction here.] Through an unprecedented collaboration and outpouring of goodwill we’ll create an abundant and peaceful world by innovating a breakthrough intelligence augmentation (IA) and solutions network powered by indigenous and regenerative science, imagination, and positive vision.

We don’t need an AI induced trans-human transcendence, nor do we need AI to manipulate us, sell us things or deliver us to a cold dead planet Mars. In the face of planetary life-support collapse and wars over resources we need a natural intelligence — a vital awakened sentience among all of life to help turn our Earth abundant so humanity might flourish in peace [See Lightpaper for Regenerative AI here.] and a deep healing of trauma as John Lennon and Yoko Ono so poetically imagined in one of the most celebrated and inspiring songs ever written, Imagine.

To honor that spirit and realize this vision I propose we call our intelligence augmentation (IA) and a new operating system REOS (for Regenerative Economies Operating System), a tribute to the power of prayer, visualization, imagination and the life giving powers of Rivers [Rios in Spanish = Rivers] — a gift of our living sentient intelligence.

This could be our ethical ‘AI’ — a natural expression of our innate human capacity for peace, to care for each other and for a living earth, honoring and respecting our kin, our ancestors and our descendants. PEACEMAKERS, IMAGINE.
