There’s a type of shame that can come from earning money online.

Bragging about how much you earn, making others feel bad for working a 9–5, appearing selfish or money driven is frowned upon, and earning a living thanks to the internet can make people feel nauseous.

Many of these outcomes can happen accidentally.

As a result, you can be led to think that earning a living online is something you should hide or not speak about.

Then there are the trolls who make you feel bad for earning money online. They trash your affiliate links to Amazon, they talk about your sponsored posts as some sort of evil, and they have a mission to expose you because you earn money online.

I want to make one thing clear: it’s okay to make money online.

It’s all in how you do it.

Many of the traps I highlighted above exist because of the way people go about making money online.

I find the best way to make money online is to do the following:

  • Don’t hide when you’re getting paid
  • Be proud of the fact you’re getting paid
  • Avoid bragging about getting paid
