Medium’s Boost Program Is Actually a Revolutionary Stroke of Genius
Serious (Medium) writers are in for an avalanche of views, followers, earnings, and authority

Boost went live in Dec 2022, but hell broke loose only in Aug 2023 — when the partner program rehaul rolled out.
Like Moses parting the Red Sea, it split the Medium writers sea — into the furious unBoosted, and elated some-Boosted.
One example is enough to illustrate the sheer difference:
- Boosted article — 2.2K views — 11-min — 53% read ratio — $257 earned.
- Unboosted article — 7.2K views — 16-min — 61% read ratio — $118 earned.
Forget the 6X earnings difference, most unBoosted articles barely crack 300 views — while Boosted ones breezily sail past 1000.
As a Boost nominator, this disillusionment is even worse. With every accepted nomination, my own rejected articles return to sting me.
