When I was 27 and had just lost my job due to a freak electrical fire, I decided I was going to start writing online. I decided I was going to write online for 30 days — no exceptions. A 30-day commitment turned into 60.
The more I wrote, the more I found new opportunities. First, I found Quora, the question/answer-based platform with 300 million unique monthly users. Next, I found Medium — the blogging site that pays you for your work. Within my first two months of writing, I generated over 3 million views.
And didn’t make a single cent.
