My Quiet Morning Routine for the Rest of 2024

Towards the end of 2023, things dropped off. There aren’t many things that dramatically improve productivity like an early morning does. But there aren’t many things that improve mood and well-being like good sleep does.

December 2023, things were getting difficult to maintain. If I’m honest I fell victim to the trap of the thing that gets us all — doing more. I worked two jobs, wrote on the internet and was in the thick of renovating a house. It means sleep I’ve needed more and more and more of.

On the days I could get up early, the writing came slow.

I’d sit, staring at the screen racking my brain for anything interesting to say. It meant that I had to shift to writing more in the evenings and at the weekends, which then meant I sort of didn’t have a life. It’s been like that for a little while.

What I need is two uninterrupted hours in the morning to get my work done and that’s how I’m focusing my time moving forward.

Here’s my quiet morning routine for the rest of 2024.
