My top 5 coworking spaces in Sydney - it’s the people not the place

Friday night drinks, ping pong tables, networking events. Sounds like a dream to be in Startup World. That fantasy is a fallacy, because a startup you need to get things done, see results and hopefully one day actually make some money.

Ultimately, you need a place for focus, where you can network, and that has space to chill. Here are my fav locations. Give them a try and let me know what you think.

Fishburners

Fishburners is a hub for startup teams and founders. You’ll have a supportive environment for beginning your business. Go check out their pitch nights on Friday and the Sydney Startup Hub. You’ll find some of the biggest coworking communities based here too, such as Recomazing and Startup Muster.

Tank Stream Labs
Daily events, end-of-month drinks, Friday brekkie, ping-pong and pool tables, and you’ll always find a meeting room. You can rent a desk or space for your team across three Australian locations. TSL loves to share the love, and connects with other coworking spaces, such as York Butter factory (Melbourne) and TwoSpace. The kicker — free coffee, if you fancy being a barista for the day.

TwoSpace
If you are travelling, working from home a few days a week, are a corporate worker or freelancer, TwoSpace provides you with an affordable, flexible space, in funky creative environments. They turn restaurants and hotels that aren’t being used in the day into co-working spaces. Think cafes, Rooftops, beautiful hotels… They have connections with Ovolo hotels where you can access their gym and discounted rooms, and use of Tank Stream Labs for their meeting rooms. Best of all, some of their locations are in Bondi, Manly and Rushcutters. DREAMY.

Aeona
Rooftop views, incredible interiors, found in the heart of Surry Hills, and owned by two legendary brothers. They have dedicated desks for teams, as well as a large event space for 30 people with luxurious leather seats, a bbq and loungers on the balcony. The boys host Sydney startup parties, and will support you every step of the way on your entrepreneurial journey.

WeWork
We all know them, they aren’t the new kids on the block, but their hubs are lush and you can have a Monday brekkie thrown in too. The packages are pretty flexible depending on your team size. If you are an agency, need a secure or quiet space for your team for those BIZ-NEZZ meetings or want to hot desk if you travel worldwide, this will do the job. Coffee and tea provided. You’ll even get beer-on-tap every day. Winning.
