OnePlus 8T Review: An Excellent Android 11 Value
OnePlus’ latest flagship skips a few high-end features to offer a great blend of quality, value, and performance
The demarcation between OnePlus’ smartphones can be, at times razor thin.
Take a look at the new OnePlus 8T ($749, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage). Like the OnePlus 8 Pro, it’s running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 with X55 5G modem technology. It has the same memory and storage options and essentially the same main 48MP camera.
But in addition to a roughly $150 price differential, there are clear design, performance, and feature differences.
Unlike the OnePlus 8 Pro, this is a 6.55-inch 5G phone with a substantially lower resolution screen: 2400 x 1080 vs the 8 Pro’s 3168 x 1440. The 8T’s screen, though is still sharper than the comparably priced 6.1-inch iPhone 11 (1792 x 828). I do prefer the 8T’s flat screen to the 8 Pro’s slightly curved at the edges one. When I grip the OnePlus 8 Pro, I sometimes accidently touch and activate the screen with the meat of my hand.
