Productive and Busy Are Not the Same

A strategy is a desired outcome combined with a plan for achieving it.

The only thing I like more than goals are action plans. Goals realize with a clear action plan. The more successful strategies I implement, the quicker my dreams come to fruition.

The strategy with the most influence in achieving any goal is prioritizing one thing and focusing on that one thing day in, day out — controlling time.

Busy is not the same as productive; there is a difference.

Busy implies you are out of control of your time and saying “yes” to too many non-essential tasks, with no clear priorities in the forefront of your action plan.

When you are spread too thin, you won’t be great at any one thing, nor will you make considerable strides in your goals.

When I’m “busy,” it usually means I’m not productive.

I’ve been busy before.

I’ve been busy with Twitter notifications and emails and stop-and-go traffic and Facebook and Instagram and breaking CNN news updates and Netflix and voicemails and texts, but…
