Managing people is not easy, it is the toughest of all the tasks. If you are a first time manager, this quick guide is for you. I have been into management for around ten years now and going to share my experience here. I cannot guarantee you will become the best manager in your organization, however, if you learn these practices and incorporate it into your team, you could be one among the best.

Let us take a scenario here. You just got promoted as a Manager and going to handle a team for the first time. You have a team of 20 with a mix of young talents(fresh grads) and people with experience.

The following are the guidelines you could follow to excel in your managerial career.

One-On-One Meetings

When you join a new team, after your first intro meeting with the team, the next thing you should do is to set up a one-on-one meeting with your team. Try to discuss as much you can with them on their experience in the project, area of interest, goals, career interest and more. You need not give a solution right away, your objective of this meeting is to know more about your teammates.
