As much as it is frustrating, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to self-improvement advice.

It is impossible to know where people are in their journey, what advice they need to hear to push them to the next level and what things are important to them.

Instead, people self-select.

I’m reading the most popular self-help books in the last 100 years, here’s some from the top ten list:

  • The Power of Positive Thinking
  • You Can Heal Your Life
  • Think and Grow Rich
  • The Secret

Many of these titles are a reflection of the population's feelings. We want to be able to read a book and change things, but in reality, it’s much more complicated.

Here’s all the self-help advice that has actually moved the needle for me, and might be helpful to you.

Thinking is only part of the story

A big part, don’t get me wrong.

But just thinking positively, thinking about being rich, thinking about your future self, all of those things won’t actually change things.
