Recently, Warren Buffett told the world cryptocurrency has no value. He doesn’t own any and never will.

This revelation set Twitter on fire and sent shockwaves through the cryptosphere.

That anybody would care whether a rich 89-year-old owns bitcoin? I suppose it’s a big deal. After all, Warren Buffett has a lot of credibility, so his statements carry weight.

Once you dig deeper, you discover Warren Buffett has no crypto because he donated it to charity.

Obviously, he does consider cryptocurrency valuable. A person of his stature would never insult his favorite charity by giving it something that has no value.

I’m sure when he files for his charitable-giving tax break, the forms will not show $0 for that donation. At least, I hope not, because if it does, he and his charity will get zapped by U.S. government, which says quite plainly that cryptocurrency has value — ergo you need to declare it on your taxes.
