My partner and I had a sit-down conversation yesterday about the elephant that’s been living with us for quite some time. My significant other and I made the decision to move in together when we felt like it made sense — mainly from a financial standpoint. We felt paying two full rent amounts at the same time we are spending most nights at the other person’s place, was a genuine waste of money. Had we of considered the consequences of cohabitation out of ignorance and had my mind of done a little reflecting on my previous ‘move-in’ experiences with ex’s, then we might be in a much different place right now.

In our conversation, we came to the conclusion that it is time we go our separate ways — from a residency standpoint. Tensions are high, toxicity is setting in, and the days of actually dating one another seem to be behind us. All of these things myself and my partner are…
