A name is the face of your product. It needs to capture your essence, values, and what makes you different from the competition. It should be the most unique, yet relatable thing about your product.

That’s a lot of pressure to hang on a word or two.

Especially because what makes a name “good” is highly subjective, and if you get it wrong the stakes are high.

So how can you create a name for your new product that gets people excited to buy it? First, let’s examine how names impact what customers think about your product.

How names affect a customer’s perception of your product

“I read in a book once that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I’ve never been able to believe it.

I don’t believe a rose WOULD be as nice if it was called a thistle or a skunk cabbage.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
