If you’ve ever been to the museum you know, they are tourist traps. People walk in expecting something extraordinary. There, they see a piece of yarn found in the grandma’s attic and some bones dug out while building a mall.

Thus the visitors walk out disillusioned. You don’t want to run your business that way!

Have you ever wondered how to make people interested in what you want to show them?

I haven’t, but the answer occurred to me while visiting Stockholm last January. I went to two different museums there.

Why We Visit Museums?

I know what you are thinking.

“But you said, they are tourist traps, why would you visit one?”

Like every other visitor, I have certain expectations regarding museums. I expect them to entertain me. And while many of them fail to satisfy my needs, I still search for the good ones.

The two museums I want to talk about are Vasamuseet and Skansen. They are both worth visiting, but one of them does a much better job than the other.
