Whether your hands are dry from repeated washing or you suffer from overall dry skin, this body butter will be your new best friend! I’ve played with this recipe since college and my skin craves it. I use it all year round because it works really well right out of the shower as a base moisturizer. I also make it for family and friends. Some of them use it as a summer soother or an itchy winter skin balm.

Please consult your doctor or dermatologist before using and be advised that natural oils like shea can go bad. If kept in a cool dry place it should stay fresh for a maximum of 90 days — 30–45 days in warmer climates. If it starts to smell, throw it out and make a fresh batch. To avoid contamination, use with clean hands or waxing spatula.

Now that the disclaimers are out of the way, please read all the directions and tips before you start — make, melt and be luxuriously moisturized.

This recipe is NOT edible

You will need a hand mixer or immersion stick blender — (I prefer the mixer — but use what you have)
