The Cliché That Helps Creatives Increase Their Audience’s Engagement
A minimalist lifestyle frees the mind — just like minimalist content
People always assume I travel with a huge suitcase. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a woman that I’m presumed to be high-maintenance and pack at least three outfit options for every night I’m traveling.
In the past five years, I’ve moved to seven different cities. And, given that my lack of upper body strength is alarming, the 23kg luggage option is redundant. I am sad to admit, I often struggle to lift even my cabin bag into the overhead lockers; I’m one of those lunatics who warns those in her proximate vicinity as I pull on the handle and attempt to control the bag’s fall as much as physically possible (which, given gravity, is very little).
Consequently, I’ve learned to travel light, and the realization that I can be happy with very few material possessions has been liberating.
I haven’t yet settled down in any one location. I’ll be moving to London in the summer, but until then, I’ve been alternating between an empty flat my parents have in Spain and our family home in the UK. I leave a drawer full of clothes in one place, and a drawer full of clothes in another. This way, I only travel with a laptop, a book, and a few essentials in a…
