Discounts are powerful. There’s little sweeter to a consumer’s ears than the sound of “free,” or “fifty-percent off.” We’re hard-wired to jump on free stuff like a kitten on a moving shoelace. For the consumer, discounts are great. We get the thing we want for less than the sticker price — maybe even free.
