The Myth of Electability
Voting on the basis of electability is a dangerous game.
It goes against the very idea of Representative Government. The reason we live in a Democratic Republic is because we were presumed to vote for people that best represented our values. This idea was to make self government more practical. Direct democracy was impossible in America, so the solution was people voting for politicians who best represented their political views. It’s basically the cornerstone of the American experiment.
