The Path
To change the world, change YOU first. To make an impact, look in the mirror. Decide that’s it’s okay to give all you have. Decide that your life isn’t about you, rather, it’s about the difference you can make. If you can decide that others can be first, you can make a difference.
It will be challenging. You WILL be used. You WILL be stepped on. You may watch others gain success, credit, accolades that you feel you deserve. Your character WILL be tested.
How will you respond? If your purpose is to offer your gifts to the world, whatever they may be, then you will find a way to get up. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. If your purpose is to offer yourself to your cause, be it education, medicine, improving the lives of others through service, innovation or guidance, you WILL do it best through the kind of surrender I’m referring to.
Your ‘how to live’ will flow from your ‘why you live’ and, as dramatic as that may sound, that IS the path to success. That IS the path to happiness. That IS the path to self-actualization or whatever you choose to call it. It’s not about the bottom line or hunting wealth for wealth’s sake. I’m not professing that we don’t all have to worry about financial health, only that it’s NOT the why. Wealth is not purpose.
These are not new ideas, they’re my synthesis of an idea, a path, that the successful people whom you envy, have followed. Your path is different from my path, just as it should be.
