Once upon a time, I was busy modernizing a platform with five agile development teams. The noble goal was to launch the platform within six months. Relentless evaluation of tools/technologies was performed in an incredibly short amount of time and everyone marched towards the holy mission. Full of passion and dedication but we eventually failed. Reason? No-one wholeheartedly understood ‘why’ we were doing it, which led to even manageable risks and issues being escalated as a big deal that finally killed the initiative.

About 95% of new products fail. One of the top reasons is the failure to clearly understand and align on the customer problem. Building an exceptional understanding of why solving a problem is as important as building the product itself. In order to avoid the failure related to customer problems, I believe in the below two mantras:
