The Skills Gap In The Artificial Intelligence Sector
There’s a good chance that you’ve heard about artificial intelligence more than ever, and it’s with good reason. Everyone from scientists, researchers, marketers, and executives are interested in how they can leverage AI technology into consumer insights that can lead to real revenue. However, there’s a real problem: not enough people are meeting the demand for data science-related work.
Even though there are data science programs all around the world, there’s a considerable job gap that has to be addressed. It’s not as if a data scientist career doesn’t pay well, either — Glassdoor conducted a survey in 2019 that concluded that the data scientist was the best job for the fourth year in a row. The need for AI will only increase in the coming years, so how do we make sure that these positions are filled?
Large corporations are ready to benefit, considering that they have the resources to hire as many data scientists are necessary. However, smaller organizations will suffer since they might not have the money to hire the talent to take them to the next level. There is a path to making sure that data scientists connect to the right companies and organizations, but there will be challenges.
