In my last piece, we discussed the expansion of health information technology (HIT), the surveillance model of medicine, and how interoperability is driving massive changes to the US health care model.

One way that interoperability is being expanded is through Clinical Decisions Support (CDS). I previously provided an overview of CDS which is essentially an IT solution that’s being leveraged within the electronic health record (EHR) as workflows, however, what we are going to talk about today is a specific program that utilizes CDS called CDS Connect.
