If you sit down and ask yourself what writing means to you, what would you tell yourself? Put your pencil down right now and look at your writing adventure. Are you satisfied, or are you looking to broaden your horizon?

Not everyone wants to take writing to a professional level. It can be a great outlet for your thoughts and ideas, and it can be a place where you connect with fellow writers. Not everyone wants to quit their 9–5 and write full-time, but there is always room for improvement.

Some investments feel good, though. The ones that you keep referring to a year later.

Am I a writer?

I’m not a writer. Well, let me re-phrase that — I’m a professional writer who has no education in writing. Since I earn some money writing, I can call myself a professional, but I don’t see myself as a writer. I’m lucky to be able to write what I want when I want.

But just because “I’m not a writer” doesn’t mean there is no value in it for me to become a better “writer.” Ok, enough of the quotes. I’m a writer looking to become a better one. There, I said it! I write — Therefore, I’m a writer.
