“Everyone you come in contact with simply mirrors back your internal belief system.” — Sir David Hawkins, MD

It begins with a decision of extreme ownership:

“I am absolutely responsible for how everyone treats me.”

I Decided That Statement Is True

I’d show up scared to my meetings every single Monday morning for twelve months.

Me, the founder/CEO of the company.

“How do I grow this thing and manage a huge ship if I’m already freaking out about a meeting with 6 people who work for me?”

“They’ll find me out.”

“I don’t deserve to be here.”

“My partner is so much smarter than me.”

“I’m not technical so how can I get engineers to follow me.”

“I’ll look stupid.”

“Will my co-founders respect me?”

I got the best life coach.

I saw the Silicon Valley therapist.

I saw the world class executive coach for founders.

Still the monkey mind had me show up scared.

The Law Of Attraction and Elliciting Behavior You Want

“Treat yourself the way you want to be treated by others. Love yourself and you will be loved.” — Dr. Joe Vitale

You have to believe and feel like you’re already in possession of what you want or else you’ll never get it.

You’ll just desire it and desire and craving are what actually blocks getting what you want.

To desire is to not have which is where the word is rooted.

You get what you want by simply visualizing it and taking action, while relinquishing not ‘havingness’.

This is the law of attraction and why we intuitively want to help and do business with people who already ‘have’ — are in possession of.

But it’s something we feel, not something tangible they necessarily have (though they often do).

They put out energy of abundance and love — whether in personal relationships or colleagues at work.

I realized finally, every time I’d meet with my co-founders and engineers I’dliterally elicit their behavior.

When I took ownership of this hard human fact, everything changed.

Days where I felt small, they’d treat me small.

Days where I felt Big, they’d treat me Big.

Days where I’d unapologetically ask the big hairy dumb question that a confident founder/CEO is entitled to ask with high expectations, I’d yield an answer with the same internal belief system mirrored right back to me.

The law: “I am what I think you think I am” definitely holds true. So assume everyone you touch loves and respects you.

This is the secret of living well.

Believing the fearful thought would ellicit and attract that exact behavior right back to me.

A Habit That Changed My Life and Can Change Yours

“This day, I vow to love myself, to treat myself as someone I love truly and deeply — in my thoughts, my actions, the choices I make, the experiences I have, each moment I am conscious, I make the decision I LOVE MYSELF. — Kamal Ravikant

Ravikant is not only a teacher, but a successful entrepreneur and investor.

I raise this point because his voice comes from a place of application which is highly valuable to me as an entrepreneur who only takes advice from people he’d trade places with.

Ravikant’s epic book Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It recommends this short daily process:

· Choose a song and put it on repeat.

· Sit in a comfortable meditation pose. Sitting up against a wall is how I do it.

· Repeat and say: ‘I love myself’

Do this until you feel electric.

Do it until you feel a rush.

Do it until you feel like you’re putting out energy that changes people.

The subconscious mind is an order taker that produces behavior — like analgorithm.

What you believe and conceive, happens.

If you ‘program’ and ‘prime’ your subconscious, deeply, correctly, what youenvision comes to life and our human monkey mind get’s out of the way from blocking it.

I practice this habit each day, and now show up to all meetings in the right state.

Most importantly, I feel deserved enough to elicit exactly how I want others to treat me.
