A lot is happening. A lot will continue to happen. If you were not particularly active in activist or social justice circles before, you may be feeling like you want to start but don’t know how. Here’s a platform-by-platform explanation of how to find actions locally to make sure your voice is heard.

Some of the more specific suggestions below are regional. Your writer is based in Chicago/Milwaukee, so take the specific account suggestions and apply them to your own city:

Facebook

In the Events tab, search “protest”, “march for”, “car caravan”, “write-in”. It will show you events nearest you first. Once you follow a few events of this type by saying “interested” or “going”, the algorithm will start suggesting actions to you. Check every day, as many events are only being planned a couple of days out.
