This is not a sponsored post but I just want to write about the Great Power of Asana

Asana. 3 syllables and 5 letters, a word that sounds a bit weird at first, you don’t exactly understand what it could mean and why any startup would go for this name.

And yet, this same Asana, whatever how weird and maybe nerdy it sounds, changed my life or at least the way to handle my workload in my startup adventures.

For those who haven’t stumbled on Asana yet, please DO IT NOW — -> the website is here.

If not now, you should want to go have a look when you will be done reading this post — if you decide to go till the end.

Task management brought to the next level

Asana is a task management tool, basically an online “to do”. Nothing revolutionary, no heavy AI or mysterious deep tech involved here: we are simply talking about a virtual equivalent to the notebook and pen you have been using to track all the tasks you need to complete at work.

More than an equivalent, it is bringing it to the next stage and becoming a management tool: as a manager, you basically build a project folder with sub-topics, and you can then list the tasks that need to be completed and assign them to your teammates, as well as determine a timeline for these tasks. Notifications that you can set up at your convenience will remind you whether you are running late completing a task relatively to the deadline formerly set up for it.

Each task can be divided into subtasks and you can comment on them, so that you have the option to fully handle all discussions about tasks in one space instead of 10 inches long email threads involving 15 people and getting more and more confusion as emails pile up.

Foster transparency within your team

This is not only a great tool to manage your team’s workload as well as your own, but also to foster transparency among the team — everyone knows what everyone is doing, so that there is better communication within the team, 2 people won’t be working on the same thing at the same time or someone working on a task that might need input from another task knows to whom he should talk.

Again, not a sponsored post but I’m a big Asana fan since forever so I had to write this. If anyone find cool (free!) Asana tricks, please share in comments!

You can set up a unicorn notification to celebrate each task completed on Asana
