This day would definitely have to go down in history as one of the toughest days of my life.

Within the confines of this story, there is a ton of wisdom and lessons that can far outweigh any short term pain I may experience from having the drug of a paycheque taken away from me voluntarily.

I was sitting on the train today imagining what it was like for people like Martin Luther King or Rosa Parks to do what they did. Upon a lot of reflection, it became clear in my mind: what they did was show courage.

Thinking about real courage is challenging. In your head, the fantasy feels straightforward until you’re in the room and have to deliver on the actions you’ve been dreaming about, for what feels like forever.

The train ride was longer today than the scheduled fifteen minutes. Not in the length of time but in how slow time passed while I contemplated what I knew I had to do. Standing up to my version of the devil himself, my boss, was going to suck.

There was no easy way to do it. It had to be done.

It was time to explore this courage thing for myself.
