Staying up to date in a field like UX is a real challenge.

Many common practices become outdated and it can be difficult to find the right resources that don’t waste your time.

Today, I’m going to share with you all of the secret resources I use to help me learn about UX and product design from the best of the best.

Nielsen Norman Group

No one is talking about how brilliant this resource has become.

Don Norman has been around for a while now since emerging as Apple’s first UX design architect and writing the best selling “The Design of Everyday Life”. He’s the world’s first bonafide, living UX celebrity; seriously, follow this blog.

his has been one of my favorites for the past 3 years. Every day, get the top 5 design links sent to your email. No fluff — only some promoted content here and there (usually job offers anyway, which is great for us).

UX Podcasts

There are so many of these and it’s so hard to keep track of them, I just went ahead and created a separate list just for UX podcasts.

On your daily commute, stuck in traffic, or just walking around? Use that time to learn something new about UX and product design.

UI Breakfast is my favorite.

Instagram

Seriously, go to Instagram and check out what’s going on over there. Many talented product designers are rocking it and teaching the world about their process.

My personal faves are Anfisa Bogomolova, Raza Shah, UX Goodies and Miriam Isaac.

Here’s a list of who you absolutely NEED to follow on Instagram.

Professional Groups

If you want to talk with a real live conversation with professionals I really recommend to join the conversation in design communities.

My personal favorites are Microcopy & UX Writing and Content + UX , but there are plenty of groups you can follow on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Slack if you want to stay on track.

UX Writing Hub

This is the first platform in the world to bring the product writer to the forefront.

Many companies these days are aggressively hiring UX writers and it’s crucial to stay up to date with everything going on in this field.

In addition, you’ll find there a blog and a job board for UX writers.

I recommend to follow the weekly newsletter or registering to the UX Writing challenge so you could get off the UX writing goodies to your mail.

Elementor Blog

This is one of the products on a meteoric rise in 2019, mainly because they really care about the design community. They have a blog and a newsletter with tons of resources and I even recently appeared on an episode of their podcast.

If you want to check out their product, it’s a really cool drag and drop, open-source plugin for WordPress. And it’s a lot of fun!

That’s it!

When it comes to UX, remember: make it clear and concise and you’re bound to improve your UX game

Let me know if I’ve missed anything and don’t forget to sign up to our weekly newsletter for more UX goodies.
