The best resources for learning during coronavirus

While bored at home, you might be looking to pick up a few new skills or tools. Lucky for us all, companies around the world are now providing free resources of almost any kind. These items range from language learning apps to paid video content and services (SaaS). I created the list as I couldn’t find one and thought more people might be looking for one.

MISC — Learning

  • Duolingo: Want to learn a new language in a different way? Now’s the perfect time.
  • CodeAcademy: Code academy is a great place to get into programming, data science or what have you. Totally free for now.
  • Skillshare: Into creative endeavors or want to get started? Check out skillshare.
  • Quizlet: Quizlet gives you the tools you need to self-study, including study sets for almost anything and tools like flashcards. Seems to only be for teachers for now.
  • Brainly: Get access to experts and other students that can help you on your journey of learning: https://brainly.com
  • These 5; Duolingo, codeacademy, brainly, skillshare & Quizlet got together to create a single hub to talk about their free resources. These are platforms from anything from Language learning to Coding and more.
  • Pluralsight: Pluralsight is an online platform originally for developer and IT training, but has recently branched into business and marketing as well. They’re free throughout April.
  • Ahrefs: Ever wanted to learn to write exceptional content for your business? Ahrefs’ amazing guide on blogging is free for the time being!
  • Moz: Have an interest or want to learn about marketing, SEO, keywords, backlinks and lots more? Check out Moz Academy!

MISC — Platforms

  • Google ads: IF you’re already using Google Ads, you might be looking at access to free credits
  • IBM: IBM has a lot of their platforms which are usually paid content, ranging from their cloud platform to Watson and more.
  • Hootsuite: If you’re doing social media for business, you very likely need a single tool to interact with all the different platforms. Hootsuite is now free for an extended period.

Webshop

  • Shopify: Shopify has extended their trial from 14 days to 90 days to help struggling SMB’s by giving them access to amazing webshop tools for an extended period of time.
