Vanished

In 1942 a Navy blimp crash-landed on a San Francisco street. Empty.

At about 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, 1942, golfers at San Francisco’s Olympic Club Golf Course paused their game to watch a partially-deflated U. S. Navy L-8 blimp wobble by very low overhead. One club member reported that he saw a parachute descending from it.
