For all time until the 1600s we just -

TALKED TO EACH OTHER.

Then the 1600s hit us and the UK postal service was created, which of course meant that we could still talk, but a piece of creativity from a business mind let us send letters around the country, which obviously aided communication.

We then waited ages for another communication method to be invented, which was the telephone in the 1800s.

Then we waited for the next piece of communicative ingenuity.

And we waited.

And waited.

Then digital happened.

Since then the creation of communication tools seems endless.

1970s

  • Email

1980s

  • Fax became prevalent

1990s

  • SMS and mobile communication
  • MSN Messenger
  • Friends Reunited
  • Forums

2000s

  • Friendster
  • LinkedIn
  • MySpace
  • Skype
  • Facebook
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Facebook Live
  • Bebo
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • Snapchat
  • Google+
  • Keek
  • Twitch
  • Tinder
  • Vine
  • Periscope
  • Meerkat
  • WhatsApp
  • Medium

In just 17 years of ingenuity, we have made communication really complicated for ourselves!
