As an SEO Specialist, some of the most common questions I get asked are about backlinks and website authority. I’ll admit: it is an obscure concept. It’s one of the many things in SEO that are (almost) completely out of your control. But that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t matter or that you shouldn’t put effort (and money) towards it.

In order to fully understand backlinks, you really need to have a general understanding of all the different types of links that can affect your website’s SEO.
