Why App Developers Should Consider Data Protocols

Nowadays, companies spend a lot of money every year to buy data about people. As a developer you have to decide whether you need data about people in your application. Only very few people do such as those working with customers, your company or whoever works with your data sources, e.g. mobile apps or mobile application backends will help you with the decision. If that’s your case, keep reading.

For the past year or so it’s been revealed many times that Facebook and LinkedIn know too much about us. This includes but not limits our contact information, what we like to read, how do we prefer to relax, what are our hobbies, and how many memes we like or send to friends. And it is this information that they sell to other companies.

People were afraid at first that ‘they stole my personal information’, ‘how could they do that’, ‘I just wanted to tell my ex-classmates how well I’m doing in life’, etc. But it is also a well-known fact that people agree with Data Policy when they sign up.

In case of Facebook it got so much attention because it’s a giant worldwide platform and at least a quarter of current population on Earth knows about it. They gathered information about people slowly, adding new features and promoting platform in the media year after year. But as a developer in 2018 you probably don’t have time and money to get information about people slow and steady. So I guess you need a fast, not super-expensive solution.

Where to find it?

In Aworker we create a decentralized and reliable solution for applications and people based on public blockchains and distributed ledgers. Our solution consists of multi-chain data protocol for third-party applications, a people identification system, data exchange, P2P job marketplace, a verification system, payments and reputation. All together, these features form a multifunctional infrastructure for the creation of a unified Reputation system.

Aworker supports decentralized data exchange. Exchange participants will be able to exchange data without using intermediaries or centralized servers. All data is encrypted and can be decrypted by the data owner or by his/her consent. The order of data exchange will be explained in a separate article if readers will request that.

Core advantages for applications developers from using the Aworker protocol:

  • An access to a user database that may interest their clients (companies).
  • An access the database of people’s data. There’s no need to gather an audience from scratch.
  • You will receive additional revenue in the form of commissions from the sold data through your application.

Aworker protocol is created completely open, so that everyone can access the data. Therefore, we are not limited to users of the protocol. Any interested developer can use the data from the protocol for his/her application.

This creates a number of advantages. First, many applications store some information about users on their centralized servers. With the help of decentralization and permission of the data owners, everyone can access the full profile. This will also benefit users who will finally own their data (monetize). Secondly, the information from trusted sources, safely stored in the blockchain, will avoid recourse to intermediaries and third parties. Thirdly, an increasing number of developers and entrepreneurs are constantly competing against each other for users (and their data). An open protocol will create greater value by the power of united efforts.

Examples of applications that can use the Aworker protocol:

  • Educational partners
  • Online schools and courses
  • Training Centers
  • Job marketplaces
  • Freelance boards
  • HR Applications
  • Tracking Application Systems
  • Scoring Application
  • Payroll Applications
  • Applications for Banks
  • Workforce Management Systems
  • Identity Providers
  • Project Management Software

Our goal is to develop an open and free solution for sharing verified data to create a reputation ecosystem in a decentralized world. This is an ambitious and technically difficult task. And we are working hard to achieve our goal. For more information about Aworker Protocol visit aworker.io
